Thought Leadership

Louis Hook was appointed Chief Information Officer of Los Angeles World Airports' (LAWA) Information Technology Division on December 4, 2003. He is responsible for overseeing information systems and telecommunication functions. Hook has 19 years experience in the communications technology and systems management fields. Under his direction, LAWA's Information Technology Group is currently implementing the department's $150 million IT Security Master Plan to support enhancing security, infrastructure and other critical IT system projects.



Linda Hirneise is the Practice Leader for the Global Travel and Hospitality Practice at J.D. Power and Associates. The practice area includes the airport, rental car and hotel/hospitality industries. Ms. Hirneise's responsibilities for the global hotel practice, which has a measurement base of 64 countries and 24 languages, include overseeing guest and employee satisfaction tracking and managing on-site quality audit programs. She also oversees proprietary and syndicated tracking for the airport and rental car industries and provides consulting services for the airport practice.



Jim Gaz is Senior Director of the Travel and Entertainment Practice at J.D. Power and Associates. Travel-related industries include airlines, airports, business airplanes, casinos, hotels, rental cars, and online travel reservation Web sites. In addition, he is responsible for business development, account service and project management for the firm's sports and entertainment clients. These clients include professional sports teams and leagues throughout North America as well as international divisions of U.S.-based leagues.The Sports and Entertainment Group conducts custom proprietary research studies on fan satisfaction, sponsor satisfaction and brand equity.



Before joining NetWorld Alliance, David Drain spent 13 years with FSA Group of Louisville, Kentucky, managing Foodservice Consultants Society International. He served as vice president of FSA's Industry Clients Group and executive director of FCSI, an 1100-member association with both domestic and international chapters. During David's tenure, that organization grew substantially on a global basis and undertook many innovative publications and projects. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, David serves as executive director of the Self-Service & Kiosk Association.



Nancy Dorighi chairs the FAA/NASA/Industry Airport Planning Workshop executive steering committee and is a manager at the NASA Ames Research Center. There she oversees the air traffic control tower simulation program. She has worked for NASA in aviation human factors research, flight simulation and information technology her entire career. Ms. Dorighi has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of San Francisco, and an master's degree in computer engineering from Stanford University. Ms. Dorighi is an Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and a member of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA). She has authored many articles and technical papers including articles in the Handbook of Airline Finance and the International Airport Review. She is featured in the book, Women Engineers: Extraordinary Stories of How They Changed Our World, published in 2005. Nancy served as an Associate Editor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's Journal of Computing & Information Science in Engineering, 2003-2006.
