Airport Innovation is committed to providing a forum for the security and airport industries to come together in order to discuss trends and security forecasts for the 2007 year and beyond. Our mission is to put the correct and latest information in the decision maker's hands, which enables our audience and readers to make educated decisions about the internal and external infrastructure and security environment of today's airports and airline industry. Our team of analysts delve into the latest trends and emerging technologies as well as discuss the security issues that affect today's companies who implement the solutions, and the passengers that are expecting the latest solutions to security threats both hidden and in plain view. The mission is simple: Deliver correct and up to date information to the right professionals so that they may make educated and informed decisions that in turn will give air travel the most secure environment possible.
Increased terrorist activities-both foreign and domestic-have enhanced the threat to airport security in the United States and abroad. The safety of millions of passengers and tons of cargo depends on the security of our nation's airports. Air transportation facilities are pressingly shopping for ultra-modern and integrated Security Management Solutions that will immediately enhance their efforts to disassemble any potential occurrence of a terrorist incident. These facilities have four critical missions:
- Keep the airport and its passengers safe through continued surveillance.
- Implement the latest and most innovative technology available.
- Continuously evaluate high tech security management solutions from financial and strategic planning initiatives.
- Insure that critical facility security is never compromised.
Airport security R&D enhances safety and security with state-of-the-art solutions. Biometrics helps identify and authenticate employees, contractors and frequent travelers, and centralize command and control of security operations. In the future, high tech airport security solutions will maximize air transportation facilities' abilities to improve:
- Explosive and Radiation Detection and X-ray Scanning.
- Surveillance: Access Control, Video, and Wide Area.
- Accurate Movement and Inspection of Increased Passenger Traffic.
- Biometrics and Emerging Technologies.
- Baggage/Cargo Screening.
Safety and Security focus is devoted to providing air transportation facilities and commercial airline organizations with brand-new technologies, trends, developments and solutions, and informing the key airport personnel and decision makers on how high-tech safety and security solutions can be capitalized towards the prevention of adverse incidents within the commercial aviation industry. Some of the topics to be discussed in the February 2007 issue will include:
- The Latest in Immerging Security Technology
- Explosive\Radiation Detection
- Access Control\Biometrics
- RFID Technology
- First Responders
- Detection Systems
- Video Surveillance
- Background Screening
- Cargo Security
- Firearms
- Passenger Security
- Security Training
- Perimeter and Port Security and Border Protection
- Aviation Security
The TSA has declared CT-based Explosives Detection Systems (EDSs) superior to ETD. In testimony submitted to Congress, Dr. Randy Null, Assistant Administrator for Operational Process and Technology for the TSA, stated, EDS & is the preferred method of baggage screening. While we continue to rely on the judgment of trained operators to resolve alarms, EDS can clear the vast majority of the baggage without operator intervention.
Airport Innovation will invite up to 4 Explosive Detection Technology vendors to discuss the latest industry trends in the Q1 2007 Edition.
Topics of Discussion: (but not limited to)- Breakthrough in explosive detection within the airline and airport industry.
- Keeping technology ahead of terrorist threats.
- How are the growing numbers of passengers passing through airports going to affect security measures?
- Incorporating TSA and privatization of security companies to work as a strong unified team.
- C-Level Executive Management
Chief Security Officers, Chief Executive Officers, Chiefs of Airport Staff, Chiefs of Airport Police, Chief Airport Safety Officers, Chief Management Analysts, Chief Administration Officers and Government Officials. - Managers and Directors
General Managers, Director General of Airport Security, Airport Directors, Federal Security Directors, Directors of Anti-Terrorism, Security Directors, Operations Director & Security, Vice Presidents of Safety and Security, Safety Directors and Agents & Distributors.
